Mon Repos Palace
General
Mon Repos Palace is situated in Paleopolis at 3 km [1.8 miles] from Corfu Town surrounded by beautiful gardens with dense vegetation. It was built in 1831 in order to host the English Governor Frederic Adam who used this Palace as his summer mansion. The Palace was designed by the English Architect Whitmore.
Gardens
The evergreen gardens host more than 2000 different kinds of plants, flowers and trees. Most of them have been offerings by several royal families of Europe.
Museum
Nowadays the Palace of Mon Repos houses the Museum of Persepolis
How to get there
It is reachable by car or public bus or taxi as it lays only at 3 km from Corfu town. There is also a taxi station at the entrance of the estate. There are also organized guided tours to Mon Repos.
