Museum of Asian Art
General
The museum offers a collection of more than 10.500 asian objects dating from 11bc to the 20th century ad. They represent several countries and areas of Asia, mostly China and Japan. The rest of the exhibits come from Tibet, Korea, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Thailand.
Exhibits
The collection includes metal artefacts, pottery, wood-carvings, paintings, prints, weapons, sculpture and minor objects. It also comprises screens and sculptures from India, Thailand and Pakistan and Chinese export porcelain, Chinese furniture and pottery, Chinese paintings, as well as Persian carpets.
Where it is
The museum is situated in the heart of Corfu Town, on the north edge of Spianada and is housed in the imposing 3-storey building that used to be the Palace of Saints Michael and Georgios
